"Did our gig

books and the order in which to play. It really has reduced

I've
become a dedicated MusicPad user ever since I bought it...
wouldn't be without it, with all the chord sheets, lyrics, jazz charts,
scores etc. which I need for my 'serious' band, Vanilla Smooth (jazz,
blues, 'strictly come dancing', fixed tempo ballroom for balls weddings
etc) my 'fun' band, Cappucino (happy clappy pop and blues for functions
parties etc), my teaching (RGT grade exams) and more... all safely and
easily accessibly installed on the one pad...
about 1000 I guess… marvellous!

MusicPad
pro is a very welcome addition to
the Studio and gig
equipment. Very easy to read and operate . Looks good and much more
professional than a music stand
Delivery from SightRead is very fast and the staff are extremely
helpful. My only criticism for the pad is that the software is not
supported by 64 bit processing systems(only 32 bit is supported). As
most new laptops run this system it can be a problem as the software
will not run am having to look for a cheap desktop to enable me to use
it properly Can a new software version be produced? One that can be
supported by a 64 bit systems?

I
live
in Australia and began searching the Net for digital sheet music. To
my delight I found the MusicPad, however I was unable to find any
company who either had it in stock or was prepared to ship to
Australia.
My
luck
changed when I found Bernard Perry at Sightread in Ashton-Under-Lyne
in Lancashire. I emailed Bernard and he answered all my questions
and promptly arranged shipment. Then I changed my mind! Yes I did
want the pedal and yes I did want the stand. No problem! Bernard
coped with my issues as they arose.
After
sales support. What is that you ask? It is a reality at Sightread.
After the MusicPad was delivered Bernard followed through by emailing
several concise step-by-step instruction sheets to enable me to cut
to the chase and begin using the MusicPad within the first 24 hours.
So
it is
with great enthusiasm that I endorse ALL the other testimonials on
this site. No more; books to lug, searching for sheets, time spent
assembling and sorting, forgetting music and no stress as ALL your
music is in one compact unit, the MusicPad. A repertoire is
assembled in a few minutes, deletions and additions to the ‘play
list’ are made with a click of the mouse and annotations on your
screen may be saved, changed or deleted anytime. Coloured
annotations are great!
Paper
is
not required. Once you have your words and chords or sheet music on
your screen, hit print, select freehand and off it goes to your
chosen folder ready to be imported directly into the MusicPad. MusicPad
is a dream come true for me and the best use of technology
for musicians.

We are
both very pleased with our pads, I have 1200 jazz and standards
on mine all on the internal memory transferred from band in a box as
PNG (interlaced) files which are clear and use very little space.
As I have put nearly 4000 tunes on band in a box I have some way to go
yet!

I
am a musician who
plays for all sorts of professional engagements and I find the MusicPad
Pro ideal for playing in all the many verities of engagements I
undertake. I have now put thousands of sheets into it (and yet, unlike
my old music case, it still weighs the same) and can for instance using
its easy to assemble or reorder Playlist, play for hours without
stopping, whether Background Music, Singalongs, Musical Theatre (where
its Backlighting is invaluable) or whatever.
My keyboard is also very programmable and so with the
MusicPad
Playlists arranged in the same order as my keyboards registration files
(memorised settings that include the tempo, beat, voices etc that I
have saved for that song/piece) I use my left foot on the MusicPad
pedal to turn the page and my right foot on one of the keyboard pedals
to advance the registration on through the sequence I've set for that
song.
It's also very easy to browse to find a song quickly for a
request
(much quicker than on the keyboard, very often)
It's very easy to scan sheet music into the MusicPad or to
use PDF
sheets/books that are freely available on the internet. In addition you
can download purchased pieces from a huge website.
I don't know how I managed before, with the approximate 20
books I took
around with me and a separate index to tell me which book a particular
piece was in. I certainly couldn't assemble a 'Playlist' in the same
easy way.
My MusicPad Pro is now as fundamental and vital a piece of
equipment to
my success as a top keyboard and sound system.

The
MusicPad is a
must have for all
Musicians who need to carry a lot of music. It has great capacity and
external memory can insure that you would never need to carry any
music, no matter how much you may have. It can be used not only for
music but for Lyrics – Playlists or any number of uses which a musician
may have as a prompt in performance or even in giving a speech. Further
it has the capacity to highlight, numerate and edit. It is an excellent
all round tool. For reading you may view in expanded versions, with
page numbers at the bottom or with nothing showing at all giving a true
100% fit to the screen. Page turning is further facilitated by a foot
pedal or screen touch back or forward.
The use of colour for text and ‘messages’ is an added bonus
by using
pro tools.
The highlight of using the pad is the exemplary support the team and
the forum members give which is unequalled in my experience.
All in all an excellent piece of kit with nothing to equal it.

For me,
the MusicPad Pro's
most outstanding feature has been it's total reliability over the last
few years - an absolute essential when you are using such a device for
gigging! This reliability also included two very nasty bumps. Once when
knocked over whilst on stage and once when I slipped down a flight of
stairs whilst carrying it and my amplifier! I got hurt but the MPP
didn't!

I have been
playing piano since age 7. Ten years into retirement I have
still not mastered the "art" of turning pages (and the pages remaining
"turned")!
Since discovering the fabulous MusicPad Pro (MPP) I am happy to report
that page-turning issues are a thing of the past.
With a simple addition of the optional foot-switch, page turning is no
longer a challenge, allowing the music to flow without any (previously)
missed bars because both hands can be on the keys.
Within the context of page turning in the MPP, the ability to use a
"look ahead" facility also gives me a much more confident and smoother
performance.
The "Annotation" feature of the MPP allows me to create
personal
playing style notes within each piece of music. All safely filed and
retained for each time that piece is used.
Another major benefit to me is the ability to create "Play
Lists" by an
easy drag and drop method from my MPP file archive of over 3,500 songs
(and growing).
These "Play Lists" allow me to create a programme of music to fit any
occasion and duration so that the event is a simple and unflustered
process that also increases my confidence and air of professionalism.
Music files can be obtained from various "web" sources (some
freeware)
and imported into the MPP. Alternatively, music can be scanned and
imported to the MPP using the (included) MusicPad Manager software.
My music collection that currently takes up two bookcases is
being
"compressed" into a 4Gb USB stick!
What used to be a chore of humping heavy books to each venue
is now no
more difficult than carrying a very neat lap-top-style carry case that
includes the MPP and foot pedal.

I think what I love
most about my MPP is the accessibility to my entire
inventory of music without the need to carry the sheet music.
I can retrieve a particular piece of music without wasting much time,
and play it. Not having sheets/binders of music
around gives a less cluttered look to the staging area. The
MPP meets my needs and it is just plain fun to watch the audience try
to get a peak at what is on this viewer and why I'm tapping the foot
pedal. I certainly wouldn't want to return to the old sheet
music again.
